A little about Mrs. Stansfield:

Born into a long line of educators in Bertha, Wadena & Miltona, Minnesota, my family moved out to California to be with family when we were in elementary school. Attended Azusa Pacific University and received K-12 Teaching and Admin Credentials. I taught for 20 years in California and was lucky enough to get to move back home and continue teaching and move into Administration here in Watford. My husband and I have raised 4 wonderful kids. Both boys are involved with Motocross, Snowmobile and Car/Truck Racing, and the girls have businesses in their graduate areas. We are excited to be back in the Midwest and enjoy camping, boating and exploring the Badlands. I feel so honored to work with the students, staff, and families we have here at BLES. Having a community that supports schools and families so much, is one of the many reasons we have joined Watford City. Our area is so unique, as it is a growing community, yet still keeps a small-town, down-home feel to it.

A little about Mr. Nichols:

I was born in Arizona but was raised in a farming family in Stanley, ND. I graduated from Stanley High School in 2008 and went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Education degree through Minot State University. I taught 1st grade for 5 years, Physical Education for 1 year, and this is my first year as an Assistant Principal at WCES. I received a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership degree through Concordia University, MN in 2018.

My wife, Kara (Johnsrud), grew up in Watford City and graduated from WCHS in 2009. We have two kids. Our son, Asher, is 4 years old and loves anything hunting or ranching related. Our daughter, Swayzi, is 3 years old and loves anything to do with horses, babies, and make-up. We enjoy spending all the time we can outside and with our families.

We are currently building a home outside of town and we are all excited to call Watford City our home.
