Rod was a stand out athlete in wrestling for Watford City High School from 1972 - 1975. He was a 3 time state Champion with 69 consecutive wins, 36 consecutive dual wins, and 80 tournament match wins! His career record is 120-12 and 61 of which were wins by pin! Rod remained undefeated both his Junior and Senior years. He had 130 Career Takedowns, 96 Career 3-point Near Falls, 104 Career 2-point Near Falls, 547.5 Career Team Points (All Career records at the time).
